There are days when the moving planets (the transits) pass over the points where your two charts touch (a planet of yours within 2 degrees of a planet of the other person), and the tradition reads those days as favourable for reaching out, or for waiting. That is a calendar for choosing the moment, and it works even without his birth time.

Why this question pulls so many people to astrology
Almost always the doubt is about timing: when to send the message, when to wait, when the door is ajar. Synastry, the comparison of the two charts, has long watched the moving planets over the points where the charts touch, because one moving planet touches that point in both charts at once.
Venus moving backwards (retrograde) is the classic “exes reappear” period in that tradition. In 2026 Venus moves backwards for about 42 days, from October 3 to November 13 in the Americas (14 in UT, Europe and Asia).
That reading describes the sky, the same for everyone.

Green from +4, red from -3, yellow in between; the day Venus changes direction counts as red. Frequently asked questions
Can astrology say whether my ex comes back?
No. It computes when the moving planets pass over the points where your two charts touch, which the tradition reads as favourable for closeness or for patience. A person's choice is in no chart.
What if I don't know his birth time?
It still works. Without it, his chart is computed at noon, and the Moon carries a 7-degree uncertainty and counts half. Everything else is placed by the date.
Does no-contact change anything in the computation?
The sky does not know about no-contact. The calendar shows when the astrology traditionally favours reaching out; whether you do is your decision, and the calendar has no opinion on it.
Is Venus retrograde 2026 an “ex returns” period?
In the tradition, yes: with Venus moving backwards, what would be a one-day pass over a point of the chart becomes three passes over the same degree: first pass, review (backwards) and third pass, where what was reviewed settles. Dates: October 3 to November 13/14, 2026, with a shadow (the stretch of sky Venus crosses three times) from August 31 to December 15. It is a reading of timing; each person's choice stays outside the calculation.
